The Lynbrook Soccer teams, both the boys and the girls, were recognized at the December 13 Lynbrook, Board of Education meeting for their charitable work during the Fall Season.

Every year, with the help of the soccer booster club, the boys and girls, soccer teams hold a soccer day and choose a local charity to make a donation of the proceeds. This year, Soccer Day was expanded to an entire week of games due to poor weather and the charity chosen was the Ryan, Patrick O’Shea Foundation, which is based in Rockville Centre. The RPO Foundation, a 501©3 charity, brings awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. Through their efforts, the soccer players were able to raise over $1500 to donate this year and the players and coaches presented that donation at the meeting.

This past Fall season, the Boys and Girls’ soccer teams teamed up with the Ryan Patrick O’Shea Foundation to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and suicide prevention. Their program, Sources of Strength, is being conducted within our schools and through their efforts, the boys and girls soccer teams have raised funds to support the program and charity.
